Turtle up until your army is undeniable with Chandragupta, or just chill with Canada's tundra bonuses and show up at the World Congress with diplomacy points out the ass. Everything from faith-boosted naval warfare with Indonesia to trade-heavy mass expansion with the Cree. ![]() Plus, while the limit of 1 leader for most civs is a downside, the actual range of playstyles is pretty extreme. The DLC's add a Diplomacy victory (which should be a day 1 standard, really), governors with unique bonuses you can shuffle around the empire, a loyalty meter to punish forward settling, fossil fuel-based upgrades to production, and a scoring system for each era. Use the Campus research grants district project (bottom of the city's production list) to force generate science points until you unlock the final space project.įull VI is pretty great. Maximize a campus and then maybe a harbor/commercial district down the road.Īlso, once you've built the spaceport, most other cities' production becomes inessential. Also, cities founded after the Industrial era can only get so big, so don't hesitate to just use them exclusively for science production. Just toss a single envoy to all the science/culture states as you meet them, then stack on them later. Other civs racking up envoy bonuses from science/culture city-states can put you at a big disadvantage, so try to make sure you're sending a few ships around the world by the renaissance era to meet all the coastal city-states. If you're having trouble with science victories, make sure you put 3 (and then 6) envoys on all the science city-states the moment you unlock universities and research labs. Other than stressing wide empires (many small cities instead of a few large cities), VI has a ridiculous number of options and playstyles. Civ IV has the best reputation but VI (with DLC's) will probably overtake popular opinion eventually. You either dislike the gameplay loop, or you're consumed by it. I've met almost no one who can enjoy Civilization a reasonable amount. Please use flair to display what games you’re currently playing, not a punch line, username, tag, URL, or signature.
